Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence

Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence or PPKI is the committee whose task was to prepare for the independence of Indonesia, before the committee is formed, has previously been established BPUPKI but because it was considered too fast to carry out the proclamation of independence, then dissolve it and form the Japan Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence (PPKI) (Dokuritsu Junbi Inkai ?, lit. Independence Preparatory Committee) on August 7, 1945, chaired by Ir. Sukarno.

Membership

At first the 21-member PPKI (12 people from Java, 3 people from Sumatra, two people of Sulawesi, a man of Borneo, one person from Nusa Tenggara, a people of the Moluccas, a person from the Chinese). The composition of the initial members of PPKI are as follows:

PPKI in the form on 7 August 1945

Dated August 9, 1945, as head of the new PPKI, Sukarno, Hatta and Radjiman Wedyodiningrat invited to Dalat to meet with Marshal Terauchi. After the meeting, PPKI not be served because the youths urged that the proclamation of independence was not done in the name of PPKI, which is considered an instrument made in Japan. Even the plan of August 16, 1945 meeting could not take place because Rengasdengklok events.

After the proclamation, on 18 August 1945, PPKI decided among other things:

1. ratify the Constitution of 1945,

2. select and appoint Ir. Sukarno as president of RI, and Drs. M. Hatta as vice president of RI,

3. form the National Committee to assist the task of the president before the DPR/MPR formed.

With regard to the Constitution, there is a change of the material generated by BPUPKI, among others:

1. Prolegomena word is replaced with the word Preamble.

2. At the opening of the fourth clause Alenia Godhead, by running for devotees of the Islamic Shari'a-adherents replaced with a belief in one God.

3. At the opening of the fourth Alenia clause "According to a just and civilized humanity" changed to "a just and civilized humanity".

4. In chapter 6:1 originally read the President of Indonesia is Muslim Original and changed to the President of Indonesia is the Original

PPKI held a second hearing on August 19, 1945. The trial is to decide it - the following:

1. Shaping the Central Indonesian National Committee (KNIP)

2. Form the 12 departments and ministers - ministers.

3. Establish zoning on the eight provinces of the Republic of Indonesia and the governor - the governor.
